This fragrant, flavorful rice is the perfect side to any dish! We used a standard Jeera Rice recipe and elevated it with our Mirch Masala spice blend.
Ingredients:
1 c Basmati rice
2 c water
1tbs ghee or butter
1 tbs cumin seeds
Chopped cilantro for garnish
Lime juice
2tsp Mirch Masala
Method:
Rinse 1 cup basmati rice until water eventually runs clear
In a pan, heat 1tbs ghee/butter or oil and 1tbs cumin seeds
Carefully add in rice and 2 cups water, 2tsp Mirch Masala and salt to taste
Bring to a low boil and then turn heat down to low
Cover pot *almost completely* leaving a small vent
Cook on low until almost all the water has been absorbed (roughly 10 minutes)
Turn off heat and cover pot completely to allow rice time to finish steaming
Fluff rice with fork while adding in cilantro and lime juice
