Mango Murabba (Sweet or Spicy)

We're so excited to share this childhood favorite with you! Murabba is like marmalade made with green mango and so delicious when eaten like jam on toast, mixed into yogurt, or with Indian flatbreads like theplas, rotis, and parathas. Our Mango Murabba can be made with Achaar Masala if you're looking for sweet and spicy or Milk Masala if you're craving a sweet treat! It stays good for 3-4 months so grab some mangos and whip a batch of this amazing condiment that will soon become a staple.

Ingredients:

Method:

  • Grate 1 green mango and toss with 1/2 cup sugar. Let it sit for about an hour while the mango releases its juices.

  • Add mango and juice to a pan and cook on medium-high for about 10 min stirring to ensure it doesn't burn. We used a nonstick pan.

  • Once thickened and most of the water has evaporated, add about 1/2-3/4tsp of either milk masala or achaar masala. Mix and take off heat.

  • Place in a sanitized jar and store in the fridge for about 3-4 months (making sure not to double-dip😋)
